    Hello to everyone Out There

I've been down with wine flu. I hope your May is rocking and that no one has rumbled (found out about) your little expenses fiddles. This is what I have for you this week:

English school in Jaipur (India) signs up to use EOT lesson plans
    Great press advertisement
    Product placement and customisation opportunities
New places to practise your English online
    Advanced reading comprehension exercise

Namcom Speaking English School in Jaipur have become a member and started teaching EOT in India, which is hugely exciting.  We are delighted, have spoken to them and will be giving them all of the support we can to make the venture a big success.  We hope more schools sign up and start helping their students to get focused and effective real practice online.  It's almost exam season and those orals are looming!

I saw this in a UK newspaper...the government has been running a TV ad campaign for years telling people who claim social security benefits illegally that they are 'closing in' on them:

    benefit fraud english out there
Which leads nicely into product placement and customisation: Many content owners use their content in lots of different ways.  Once you have invested in creating it, it makes sense to optimise its usefulness to as many people and users as possible. We are no different and we want as many learners as possible to use our stuff, because we are sure it will help them. If you have a school or online learning business and fancy letting your users have free access and use of our unique materials why not get in touch? You could have your business name carefully and appropriately inserted in some lesson plans or possibly put your logo on the front of them. Anything, as they say, is possible :-)  For more info click on the link below:

I found this while browing the web, its called Voxopop and it looks interesting. It is an English practice forum but with recorded voice messages in place of written messages, maybe I should start an EOT one:

More UK Border Agency immigration/accreditation frivolity, I wasn't 'forgotten'. Nice.  Anyone for an advanced reading comprehension exercise?

Read the following passage, which is a reponse to my sending them pdf screenshots of the misinformation on their websites (which, naturally, I relied upon as 'the law') and answer the following question:

    8.  We will look into the necessity of making changes to the UKBA website, to ensure that it is clear that a non-EEA national wishing to come here for a short course of study should qualify to do so under the student visitor and not general visitor rules.

    Q. 1. Consider and comment on the use of the words 'look into' and 'necessity'?
    Q. 2. What do they mean?

    Did they really say that?

"I feel like I'm at such a place that I own
myself, and it's authentic." - Jessica Simpson
(Ed. Does she work for the Home Office?)

    Until next time...
    Cheers
    Jason
