Why do we talk? Great TV programmeAn MIT professor makes his baby son a study of first language acquisition and it is amazing to watch him acquire language in huge detail, but for me the most important conclusion of the programme comes towards the end. Not sure why Chomsky got an outing as his theory of an innate grammar is a bit defunct now but the final conclusion that language is a social, real world inspired phenomenon in humans is just what we at Languages Out There have believed all along and it is what our courses are based upon. Find out more at www.Facebook.com/EnglishOutThere Our new mantra at Languages Out There is holding up nicely in the face of scientific scrutiny. learn.english.social This (below) is a Youtube trailer...you might be able to find the entire programme on an international network's video on demand service, just search on 'why do we talk horizon bbc'. Cheers Jason
